39 Canadian Brigade Group - Exercise Cougar Salvo

Exercise Cougar Salvo

Exercise Cougar Salvo is 39 CBG's annual field training exercise which combines the brigade as a whole. Every year, the exercise is held in a different location, usually in British Columbia. In 2006, it was held in the streets of Kamloops, in 2007, at HMCS Quadra Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre near Comox. However, it has been held in other locations, such as in the United States. In 2012, Ex Cougar Salvo was held in Boise, Idaho.

Famous quotes containing the words exercise and/or salvo:

I have heard arguments ... in favor of pardoning D. M. Bennett, convicted of sending obscene matter through the mails, viz., a pamphlet [by Ezra Hervey Heywood] of a polemical character in favor of free love. While I am satisfied that Bennett ought not to have been convicted, I am not satisfied that I ought to undertake to correct the mistakes of the courts—constantly persisted in—by the exercise of the pardoning power.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Old heavens, you used to tweak above us,
Standing like rain whenever a salvo . . . Old heavens,
You lying there above the old, but not ruined, fort,
Can you hear, there, what I am saying?
For it is you I am parodying,
    Your invisible denials.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
