3836 Lem (1979 SR9) is a main belt asteroid. It was discovered by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Chernykh on 22 September 1979 at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. It was named after Stanisław Lem, a Polish science fiction, philosophical and satirical writer.
