35th Signal Brigade (United States)

35th Signal Brigade (United States)

The 35th Signal Brigade is the largest signal unit in the world and was the only airborne signal brigade in the United States Army. The brigade was previously based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and provided rapidly deployable force projection signal support, and rapid communications for Army, Joint, and Combined Operations. On 23 April 2007, the 35th Signal Brigade relocated to Fort Gordon, Georgia, and the 93rd Signal Brigade was reflagged as the 35th Signal Brigade. Its parent unit is Army Forces Command.

Famous quotes containing the words signal and/or brigade:

Certainly the effort to remain unchanged, young, when the body gives so impressive a signal of change as the menopause, is gallant; but it is a stupid, self-sacrificial gallantry, better befitting a boy of twenty than a woman of forty-five or fifty. Let the athletes die young and laurel-crowned. Let the soldiers earn the Purple Hearts. Let women die old, white-crowned, with human hearts.
    Ursula K. Le Guin (b. 1929)

[John] Brough’s majority is “glorious to behold.” It is worth a big victory in the field. It is decisive as to the disposition of the people to prosecute the war to the end. My regiment and brigade were both unanimous for Brough [the Union party candidate for governor of Ohio].
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
