Avatar has grossed over $2.7 billion, making it the highest-grossing film in history, as well as one of two films in history to gross $2 billion (the second being Titanic, also by James Cameron, during its 3D re-release) in box office receipts and the first film to gross over $700 million in the US and Canada. Four other films (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and 2012) are also among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time.
