Sole Survivor

The sole survivor of the crash was Slovak Army First Lieutenant Martin Farkaš. He suffered minor brain swelling and lung injuries after the crash before being transported to Košice to seek medical attention. According to rescuers, his survival was pure luck as he was found in the aircraft’s lavatory, which received little damage.

Famous quotes containing the words sole and/or survivor:

    The ripest fruit of all,
That perfect bliss and sole felicity,
The sweet fruition of an earthly crown.
    Christopher Marlowe (1564–1593)

You’re looking, sir, at a very dull survivor of a very gaudy life. Crippled, paralyzed in both legs. Very little I can eat, and my sleep is so near waking that it’s hardly worth the name. I seem to exist largely on heat, like a newborn spider.
    William Faulkner (1897–1962)
