The 2003 competition was held in Beijing, China between November 6 and 9. The compulsory dance was the Yankee Polka.
It was the Cup of China's inaugural year.
Famous quotes containing the words cup and/or china:
“In poorer lands
No one touches the water of life.
It has no taste
And though it refreshes absolutely
It is a cup that must also pass
Until everybody
Gets some advantage....”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
“Anyone who tries to keep track of what is happening in China is going to end up by wearing all the skin of his left ear from twirling around on it.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
