The 2001 UK Championship professional ranking snooker tournament took place at the Barbican Centre in York starting on 3 December and TV stages shown on BBC between 8 and 16 December 2001.

Ronnie O'Sullivan won his third title this year with a huge margin against Ken Doherty, 10–1, which was the biggest win in the final since the championship introduced the best of 19 frame finals in 1993. He also got the highest break, with 142 in the semi-final against Mark Williams.

This would be the first UK Championship to be held in York, only becoming the fourth venue in the championship's history.
