1989 Italian Grand Prix

The 1989 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One race held at Monza on September 10, 1989.

Alain Prost won the race. Knowing that he was signed to Scuderia Ferrari for the following season, he dropped the trophy from the podium to the crowd, to the severe disapproval of his team manager Ron Dennis.
